If you’ve been following this blog and the news in the timeshare industry, you know that timeshare sales are down significantly. The high-end brand name hoteliers like Marriott, Starwood, Hyatt, Wyndham, Hilton have all cut down sales staff drastically — Marriott has even gone so far as to stop further timeshare development until the economy recovers.
Even the president and chief executive officer of the American Resort Development Association (ARDA), Howard Nusbaum, states that sales may drop 30 percent this year from 2008.
“The main obstacle for the industry is that there will be a semi-permanent reduction in demand because developers would sell to people with relatively low credit scores,” said Deutsche Bank’s Woronka. “That won’t be possible anymore. Your pool of buyers will be much smaller from now on.”
What does that mean for the individual timeshare owner? If the big sellers cannot sell, you will not be able to either. Don’t get stuck paying another maintenance fee bill or worse, a special assessment! Make sure that you contact Timeshare Relief and learn of the one proven method to get rid of a timeshare even in this depressed economy.
